Er! David Cameron.
Because the Meeja would not allow any increases in allowances to Politicians to bring their earnings up to a reasonable standard. Anytime somebody mentioned increasing allowances and earnings to a comparable level to equivalent private work, the Meeja immediately started ranting and raving about the "poor, low paid nurses" or dustmen, etc., etc..
In part, the uncovering of the abuses by Westminster politicians was an open goal for the Torygraph Meeja.
No I am not apologising for the eejits buying Duck Houses or sending in bills for the cleaning of their moats.
But in all the Huffing and Puffing of the story, the uncomfortable fact of how much comparable workers earn in respect of MP's is forgotten.
If any person can tell me how a dustman or a nurse, now earning half an MP's wages, or a twee BBC interviewer can earn twice an MP's can relate to not only the amount of work or the responsibility required from an elected person, then I will admit to being amazed, stunned and totally shocked. 'Cos I don't want a nurse, a dustman or a twee TV interviewer making llaws which affect me, unless they can get themselves elected.
