The Blind Leading the Blind to the Dole Queue

Once again the LibDem/SNP Edinburgh cooncil coalition is thinking the unthinkable.

With the proposed closure of the > Blindcraft workshops <, the cooncil is sending people handicapped by their lack of sight to the dole queue, where we sincerely hope that after the next local election, that they'll meet up with those whose lack of vision sent them there.

What with the closure of public toilets, once fortnightly bin emptying , and other wheezes like taxing carparking for all those with big cars, can we live with the Axis of Power eejits much longer?

Now some other idiot comes up with spending £100k on reducing speed limits an a lot of roads down to 20 mph. Er, with the greatest respect (not) most of these roads can only be driven at 20 mph or lower - due to speed bumps, (double) parked cars, pot holes, School restricted areas, etc..

And with the noble excuse of saving children from dying under speeding cars - how many children have actually been hurt in the past year, let alone died by a car in Edinburgh in the past year.

Yes, I do realise that even 1 death is one death too many but I would suspect that any death over the past 10 years has been due to circumstances beyond the 20 MPH restrictions proposed.

Over Paid Public Workers and Under Paid Politico's

Question: Who amongst all the Civil Servants and Public Workers named and shamed in the Meeja today have 7 homes (now 8), a £30 million pound fortune and while leader of the opposition, had a £100k government allowance to run his private office topped up by at least £500k a year donations from supporters?
Er! David Cameron.
Because the Meeja would not allow any increases in allowances to Politicians to bring their earnings up to a reasonable standard. Anytime somebody mentioned increasing allowances and earnings to a comparable level to equivalent private work, the Meeja immediately started ranting and raving about the "poor, low paid nurses" or dustmen, etc., etc..
In part, the uncovering of the abuses by Westminster politicians was an open goal for the Torygraph Meeja.
No I am not apologising for the eejits buying Duck Houses or sending in bills for the cleaning of their moats.
But in all the Huffing and Puffing of the story, the uncomfortable fact of how much comparable workers earn in respect of MP's is forgotten.
If any person can tell me how a dustman or a nurse, now earning half an MP's wages, or a twee BBC interviewer can earn twice an MP's can relate to not only the amount of work or the responsibility required from an elected person, then I will admit to being amazed, stunned and totally shocked. 'Cos I don't want a nurse, a dustman or a twee TV interviewer making llaws which affect me, unless they can get themselves elected.

Spinning Jenny Dawe praying for a Miracle

Jenny Dawe, Leader of the LibDem/SNP administration must be praying for miracle at the local elections as she and the Leader of the SNP, Steve (Call me the Tsar of all good things) Cardownie are looking at the dole queue that the ConDems in Westminster are building up.

The Spin that there is a magic figure of £90 million has stuck in the mindset of the administration since they came to power, an no matter what they cut, however many schools close, mismanage the trams, cock up the Scottish Homecoming, they are always £90 million pounds short in the budget.
